Mechanical preparation
Apart from the basic task of removing as much infected tissue from the root canals as possible, the mechanical preparation of root canals is focused on providing the canal with a tapered shape. This allows reliable disinfection and tight obturation of the canal. With NiTi instruments, high-quality work can be done in a reliable manner. In the last few years, several Endo Motors for mechanical files have been established on the market. The product range provided by Komet comprises both rotary and reciprocating file systems.

FQ.
The easiest way to a successful Endo.
Every endo is unique. And so is FQ: A well thought-through innovative system to make the treatment easier, more efficient and safer. It is a convincing all-in-one-solution that transfers Komet’s experience into a new generation of files. This new rotary nickel-titanium file system allows for an effective and minimally invasive treatment of difficult root-canals. The innovative variably tapered file-core has a double-S cross section and offers maximum flexibility and cutting performance. The pre-bendable files cut easily and grant a pleasant and safe working experience.
Komet’s efficient, flexible, and reliable file system.
Heat-treated nickel-titanium.
The higher resistance to cyclic fatigue minimizes the risk of file fracture. Better access to the root canals and lower risk of zipping and ledges, as the file is pre-bendable and very flexible.
Double-S cross section.
Efficient treatment thanks to the excellent cutting performance. The narrow core of the file allows for optimal flexibility.
Concise system.
Clearly laid out basic sequence containing a small number of well-matched instruments to save time during root canal treatments. However, the comprehensive, versatile portfolio also allows the compilation of individually adapted file sequences to suit the requirements of the canal anatomy.
Variably tapered file core. *
The variably tapered file core enlarges the chip space. Infected tissue is transported out of the canal more efficiently and the duration of the treatment is shortened.
Thanks to the heat-treated material, the variably tapered file core is very flexible. The file follows the anatomy even in very curved canals. The treatment becomes safer.

FQ.
Unparalleled efficiency and durability proven by various tests and studies.
FQ emerges as winner from the latest Dental Advisor study.
When performing an endodontic treatment, you put your trust in the performance of your instruments. A recent study by the Dental Advisor Biomaterials Research Center now reveals the yet to be matched reliability of rotary FQ files.
A game-changer when it comes to cutting speed.
The data shows remarkable results for FQ rotary files when it comes to cutting efficiency. Compared to ProTaper UltimateTM, FQ rotary files demonstrated an impressive cutting speed that is 24 % faster than that of their competitors.
Groundbreaking in thorough treatments.
Effective debris removal is crucial for successful endodontic treatments, and FQ rotary files have demonstrated their superiority in this aspect. They excel in removing debris, surpassing ProTaper UltimateTM by a significant margin 2. The pronounced grooves of FQ rotary files contribute to the creation of long strips of debris, ensuring thorough elimination from the canals.
Performance built to last.
When it comes to cyclic fatigue resistance, FQ stands out as a true champion. The data reveals that these files exhibit a remarkable 110 % to 228 % increase in cyclic fatigue resistance compared to ProTaper UltimateTM. What’s even more impressive is that all files survived beyond the challenging threshold of three canals, thus proving their unrivaled durability.
FQ sets new standards.
These findings highlight the exceptional performance and reliability of FQ rotary files, making them the preferred choice for dental professionals seeking highquality endodontic instruments.

FQ. Cyclic Fatigue Resistance*.
*Based on in-house test. Supporting data is available
Cyclic fatigue resistance of FQ and competitor files at canal curvature of 75° and with a radius of 5 mm.
Thanks to a number of features – like innovative file geometry and heat treatment, FQ is more resistant to cyclic fatigue than F360 and F6 SkyTaper. This significantly reduces the risk of a file fracture and increases the level of safety for both the dentist and the patient.
All FQ files showed high cyclic fatigue resistance, with up to 470 % longer life expectancy compared to competitive file systems

Reciprocating file system
Procodile Q.
The evolution of flexibility.
This evolution makes the endodontic world even safer and easier. Procodile Q is the first heat-treated reciprocating file with a variably tapered core. For unprecedented flexibility, combined with an incredibly effective performance.
Core competence revisited – the flexible way
New
Q stands for heat
The new Procodile Q file is heat-treated so that it can contribute even more effectively to a successful endodontic treatment. The heat treatment makes the file easier to bend while increasing the flexibility and safety.
Adaptable
Optimum preparation even of curved canals
In combination with the variably tapared file core and the Double-S-cross-section, the heat-treated material lends the Prodcodile Q file an unprecedented flexibility. The file follows the anatomic course even of curved canals, so that the preparation can go ahead in complete safety.
Unique
The variably tapered file core
The preparation of the root canal using a file with a constant taper ensures a homogeneous obturation. The ProcodileQ file has a variably tapared file core. With this new feature, the diameter of the core decreases towars the shank, which make the file even hungrier and more adaptable.
Hungry
Fast and effective substance removal
The variably tapered file core of the Procodile Q file increases its chip space. As a result, infected tissue is removed from the canal even more effectively in very little time.
Resilient
Increased safety for the user and the patient
Procodile Q files are clearly more resilient than other files on the market. They are up to 300% more resistant to cyclic fatigue, compared to the files of other reciprocating file systems. This significantly reduces the risk of file fracture.
I would like to carry out my endodontic treatments with a file system that enables effective work and gives the user a safe feeling when preparing narrow and curved root canals. The heat treatment has implemented my requirements very pleasantly and effectivley. This file system is distinguished by the unique combination of efficient substance removal, gentleness and retention of the canal geometry.
Step by Step.
Simple an clearly structured. Four main sizes for the preparation of narrow, medium sized and wide canals with matching paper and gutta-percha points – for the best obturation possible.
1. Generous preparation of the canal entry zone, for example with the reciprocating Opener.
2. Creation of a glide path, for example with a K-file in size 015. The matching Procodile Q file is selected according to the size of the previously used (manual) file.
Rule: Skip one ISO file size.
3. Canal preparation with the Procodile Q.
4. Obturation with a matching gutta-percha point.

Procodile Q.
For a new sense of safety proven by various tests and studies.
Flexibility beyond average.
Komet’s Procodile Q is the first heat-treated reciprocating file system with a variable tapered core. The heat-treatment ensures prebendability while also creating a flexibility only few can match – for optimum preparation, even of curved canals. As the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston confirms: Procodile Q’s flexibility is by far higher than the one observed in WaveOne Gold® files.
Safer than ever before.
In terms of durability, Procodile Q is yet to be beaten. Data by the Dental Advisor Biomaterials Research Center confirms that Procodile Q’s cyclic fatigue resistance lasted between 197 % and 325 % longer than WaveOne Gold’s®, which reduces the risk of fractures and this increases the safety during the procedure.
The Dental Advisor Biomaterials Research Center also detected that significant unwinding was found in all three sizes of WaveOne Gold® files, but in only one size of Procodile Q (after three canals) which again emphasizes the durability of Procodile Q files.
Efficiency at its best.
The Dental Advisor data study also proves: With a cutting rate 16 % faster than WaveOne Gold®, Procodile Q files are the perfect fit for a fast and efficient preparation of the root canal4. In addition, the tapered core helps to remove infected tissue effectively, extrude debris coronally, and thus can help to lower the risk of postoperative infections.
Procodile Q is the stronger, faster, and more durable file.
These studies prove us right – with a superior flexibility, longer durability, higher safety, and a variety of file sizes, Procodile Q masters all challenges of your work routine.
